The Propaganda Wall

This chapter happens in 1966 in China, Shanghai. The Red Guards are almost like there own government is one of the historical events that happens in this chapter.

In this chapter the Red Guards practically have there own government know. They do whatever they like in the name of Mao.
The Red Guards made a man kneel on a washboard in front of the wall called the *propaganda wall* which has pictures of Mao on it.
They made him do so intel he passed out because of being in the song too long.
Ji-Li's best friend An Yi Grandmother committed suicide for an unknown reason. A famous Red Guard gave a speech for the public to come and see, listen. Ji-Li witnessed the abuse of her next door neighbor but she still followed Mao & the Red Guard and she though it was rite for them to abuse her neighbor.


In this chapter i learned that An Yi's grandmother committed suicide and that the Red Guards are wanting there own government

Because we learn that the Red Guards are more strike and punish severely people that do not respect not using or wearing '' Four Olds''

The goal of propaganda is to prevent people from questioning the message or from thinking critically outside the perameters of the message so that the message is considered an unchallangeable truth.
